Building a better life, one paw at a time
We are passionate about making a difference in the lives of animals in need. We are dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming animals. We are also committed to educating the public about responsible pet ownership and the importance of spaying and neutering their pets.
Our goal here is to renovate the rescue, rebuilding the love, trust and security that these animals deserve along the way. We are striving to create a safe and welcoming environment for the animals in need. With your help, we can make a difference in their lives and give them a chance to feel love and live a better life.
THE OLD YARD
The previous premises we used to use consisted of an old house and attached yard. The previous owner was a prolific hoarder and the house was in total disrepair after years of neglect, when he passed away his family began to rent the building and land to us. This was a great solution at the time as it was close proximity to Mihaela's home and allowed us somewhere safe to keep the rescued cats and dogs. We gutted the inside of the house and got rid of many years worth of accumulated clutter, dirt and waste and tried our best to clean and fix up what we could. It was a never ending battle from the outdated and dangerous electrics to the leaking roof, there was always a problem arising due to the poor condition of the house.
We completed several projects here including building a functional outdoor toilet (as there was no plumbing!), rebuilding the fence to keep the place secure and also building a cat balcony to give the cats a bit of sun and fresh air. The recurring problem we had at this place was being unable to make any permanent changes as we were renting and the landlords were unreliable and constantly threatening to sell.
FUTURE PLANS
We purchased this land and re-opened our doors in 2022 and since then, we have been working hard to make sure that our four-legged friends have the best possible environment to live in whilst they await their perfect match and find their fur-ever family.
With the help of kind donations and generous support, we are working towards our goals of creating an animal rescue that provides the best for all the animals in our care and can be called a true sanctuary, offering refuge from the harsh conditions and brutality they would otherwise face on the streets. We have big plans for the rescue but it is only made possible by the kindness of generous donations and continued support.
CEMENT THE PEN
We plan to cement the flooring in and outside the pen previously used to house our ram. It is currently just earth which gets messy in the rain and is impossible to keep clean. Cement will improve the living conditions and allow us to house dogs in this area whilst being able to keep it clean and hygienic.
